The skull is universal. Every species has one, and it shapes who they are. This photography series served as the basis for the column It’s Nature, offering a hands-on, visual process before the digital processing. For each image, I layered sheets of paper illuminated by an X-ray lamp and photographed the result in inverted black-and-white. This approach reduces each subject to its core: the structure of a species, shown through light and shadow. Simple and careful compositions invite the viewer to notice what connects us before we focus on what sets us apart.
