Personal data has become the foundational resource for corporate power. It mirrors the land ownership that underpinned the wealth of medieval kingdoms. This work presents the binary data of the artist’s Data Subject Access Request submitted to Meta Platforms Inc. It displays the data on an electronic paper crown where images of the French Crown break through. This work asks the viewer to consider the value of their own personal data and how that value powers and benefits others.
